Your vacation is about so much more than the resort. It’s about the local community, too. That’s why Grand Pacific Resorts is committed to giving back in the destinations we serve. Here are a few of the things we’ve been up to recently.

Supporting Local Charities with the Kauai Visitor Industry

Hanalei Bay Resort associates have participated in the Kauai Visitor Industry Charity Walk for more than 10 years. In 2016, the team raised $13,609 for local causes, including Ronald McDonald House Charities of Hawaii and the Special Olympics Hawaii. Lillian, the resort’s guest services manager, raised the most money on Kauai for the third year in a row, earning her the prestigious Golden Slippah Award.

Kids Get Fresh Food from North County Community Services

Preschoolers in Oceanside, California, are enjoying fresh, organic produce from a three-quarter acre lot maintained by North County Community Services. Bronner Field produces 4,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables each year, and we had the opportunity to help out! More than 40 leaders from Grand Pacific Resorts spent more than 80 combined hours volunteering at the garden. They moved mulch, weeded raised beds, and had a great time connecting with one another in a new setting.

14th Christel House Golf Tournament Raises Over $35,000

Grand Pacific Resorts hosted the 14th Annual Christel House Golf Tournament in Carlsbad, California, on June 13. The event included more than 100 golfers and raised more than $35,000 for Christel House schools in underprivileged neighborhoods in Indianapolis, Mexico, South Africa, and India.

Cancer Survivors Find Healing with Send Me On Vacation

ResorTime, our nightly timeshare rental website, recently donated $1,500 to the Send Me On Vacation Poker Tournament & Casino Night. The event raised enough money to send 50 breast cancer survivors on the vacation of a lifetime. Send Me On Vacation provides hope and healing for survivors and their families, who need a break from the stress of treatment but are often cannot afford to travel.
