Carlsbad definitely tops the list of our favorite drive-to destinations. Jim and I make the trip every other week to collect sea glass, try new foods at the farmers market, and visit our parents. We love that as owners we have day use privileges at Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort. It’s perfect for our quick visits!
We own one week in Carlsbad, and this year our son’s family stayed with us. One day we hopped on the COASTER (the Carlsbad station is within walking distance of the resort) and cruised down to San Diego. You can drive the I-5 in about 40 to 60 minutes, but the riding the COASTER from Carlsbad to San Diego is much more scenic and more fun!
