(continued) We also completed sewer and roof repairs to get a jumpstart on the winter as well. If you happened to come to the Beach Club this summer, you probably noticed that that we were doing our part to save water due to the drought in California by adhering to the water restrictions, which limit landscape watering to two days per week. Unfortunately, our front grass area fell victim to a hot dry summer with restricted watering. Your Board and management responded by initiating a complete transformation to the front of the resort. Beautiful drought-tolerant plants were added and the grass was eliminated, creating a wonderful garden supported by drip irrigation. Another project in process is the spa remodel project. Due to many new code and ADA requirements, the cost of the spa remodel escalated in price. In consideration of this, the Board wanted to determine if the increased expense outweighed the benefits of keeping the spa. Early in September, our Owners were surveyed asking their opinion about keeping or removing the spa. Initial results seemed to indicate that many Owners were not in favor of keeping the spa, however, subsequent input from Owners highlighted the fact that the spa is considered an important amenity that is enjoyed by Owners and guests. As a result, the Board has made the final decision to move forward with the originally planned replacement of the spa. Work will begin soon and the new spa should be fully operational by February 2016.
