Grand Pacific Resorts has a long tradition of social responsibility, beginning with our support of Christel House and community-based causes in the 1990s. We continue to expand and integrate our giving back efforts, which are now under the leadership of Lisa Wanzenried, RRP, vice president of business and market strategy.
Lisa’s passion for social responsibility was inspired by her tenure as president of Send Me On Vacation, a charity that provides vacations to cancer survivors. Making an impact in the lives of families in need inspired Lisa’s passion for corporate citizenship.
Resort Trades is providing Grand Pacific Resorts with a platform to share best practices in hopes to inspire the next wave of social responsibility. Throughout the series of articles, Lisa explores how resorts of any size can create a program to make a difference.
Doing Good Is Good for Business
“When we talk about social responsibility, we tend to focus on the impact it has on the community. We think in terms of people served, dollars donated, and problems solved—all important considerations. But doing good is also good for business, and this is especially true when it comes to timeshare resorts.”
Creating a Unified Vision for Social Responsibility
“Our focus quickly shifted from developing new partnerships to helping our resorts work together in the context of a cohesive social responsibility program. It’s easier and more affordable than you think when you engage employees and owners and take a ‘What Matters to You, Matters to Us’ approach.”
Best Practices for Your Social Responsibility Program
“The beauty of this program is that it puts the power back in the hands of our owners and guests. It also encourages them to share our website and gives them a simple way to make a difference. Viral empowerment strategies like this amplify the power of your giving and are easy to implement through social media and word of mouth.”
