Aloha mai Kākou!

On your next visit home to the Makai Club Condos and Cottages, please check out the newest additions to the units and resort. New bedding and mattresses were installed, electronic door locks replaced the old manual key locks, and a new telephone system was installed with an additional phone in the bedrooms.

A number of sidewalks that were uneven were replaced; two new barbeque grills and a palapa (thatch roofing) were installed between the 700 condo buildings and both barbeque grills by the pool area were replaced. Repairs/replacements of rotted deck boards and railings were done for some cottages and a number of pickets were replaced on the condos.

Most recently, bromeliads were added at the entry sign and waterfall to provide a brighter look entering into the resort. Ferns and other ground covering continue to be planted throughout the bare spots. Hawaiian orange trees, lemon trees, kukui nut trees and an ulu (breadfruit) will be added to the grounds. We’ve filled the open Grounds position and now have two people to take care of our evolving landscaping.

Your Annual Homeowners Association meeting for both the Condos and Cottages is held in June. This meeting is on-site at the resort with your Board of Directors and Owners who attend either in person or by proxy. It is highly important that you participate in the process and return your proxies. Your proxy is needed to meet quorum. If a quorum is not achieved, the association will be required to adjourn and reschedule the meeting at an additional expense to the Owners. By signing and returning the proxy card, you, as an Owner and member of the Association, may appoint the proxyholder or name an alternate proxyholder, such as your experienced Board to vote on your behalf. Your vote and proxy counts!

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank each individual Condo and Cottages member that served on your Board this past year. What an amazing group of individual Owners who are very passionate about your Makai Club Resort. Each has made great contributions, suggestions and provided direction to ensure a memorable vacation experience and maintain your trading power and resort value. The many countless hours of their volunteer efforts should not go unnoticed. Thank you for all your hard work for Makai Club Resort!
