Mountain Retreat Resort
Mountain Retreat Connection
October 2016

Greetings!

Thank you to all our Owners who were able to join us on September 24th for the Mountain Retreat Annual Homeowners’ Meeting and Expo. As always, it was a wonderful celebration of YOU, our Owners, who make this resort so special. Along with the election of board members, resort update and committee reports; we also discussed why it’s so important to become involved in helping our resort flourish. I would like to provide you with some recent updates.

Maintenance is working around the property doing a fall cleanup. During this time of year our beautiful pine trees drop their needles and the deciduous trees are changing color and losing their leaves. Additionally, our Maintenance Team will be staining decks, painting interiors, cleaning carpets and winterizing the property. This is also the time of year when our construction projects swing into full steam to beat the winter weather. We are pleased to report the decks of Units 16-19 and 30 & 31 will be replaced. Construction on the exterior chimney chases on Units 20-23 will also be completed.

We are happy to have a new member of the Front Office Team, Serene Weber. Serene has been with us just a short time and is a quick learner. She can’t wait to welcome you and your family back to Mountain Retreat.

The Mountain Retreat Team also recently took part in several GPR “Be Epic!” service training sessions. These sessions are built around Grand Pacific Resorts’ service culture and focus on ensuring that our Owners and Guests leave us with memories worth sharing. On the safety front, the team went to the local Fire Department and learned skills to manage small workplace fires. We had a great time learning new life skills during these sessions.

We are happy to announce that Mountain Retreat is now participating in the “Clean the World” program, which is an organization that partners with hotels, resorts and management companies to provide a unique, turn-key program that actually saves lives and helps to preserve our planet by recycling the used bar soap and bottled amenities left behind by guests and distributing them to those in need. The Housekeeping Team loves this program; they feel so good about recycling something that has previously been discarded in order to help those in need.

This is a great time to explore our hills during fall foliage. As the temperature drops and the long days of summer shorten, the trees have begun their visual feast of red, yellow and orange as they prepare for winter. October is typically a month for the changing of the seasonal guard and we’ve been very busy at Mountain Retreat. So grab that jacket, the camera and some hot chocolate and enjoy the color of this special season at Mountain Retreat. We look forward to your next visit when you will be able to see the positive changes we have been making.

Warm regards,
Jennifer Langdon
