Red Wolf Lodge at Squaw Valley
Resort Update
March 2017

Hello Red Wolf Lodge at Squaw Valley Owner,

There have been many names including “Januburied”, “Snowapocalypse”, and “Snowmagedeon” for the record breaking snow in January. Squaw Valley received an astonishing 25-plus feet, a record for the most snow in one month. Total snowfall thus far is 50 feet for the year. The snow base as of March 1st is at an amazing 20 feet. The most recent measurement of the Tahoe Basin’s snow pack showed it was 233% of average. All the snow is helping California’s fight against the recent five year drought. Lake Tahoe’s water level is at its highest point in more than a decade. With more storms in the forecast, the dam in Tahoe City is now releasing water and the Truckee River is finally flowing.

The resort is thriving as a result of the excellent snow conditions, which is reflected in occupancy and revenue numbers. We exceeded room revenue in January and February and are trending similarly in March. The Housekeeping department has done a great job with the high occupancy, remaining focused on maintaining the standards of cleanliness to exceed Owner and Guest expectations. The Maintenance department is very happy with the purchase of our new snow blower, making it much easier to keep the deck and grounds clear of ice and snow, maximizing the safety precautions taken at the resort.

Squaw Valley hosted the Audi FIS Ski World Cup from March 9th through March 12th. This marked the return of World Cup ski racing to California for the first time in 19 years. Events consisted of a Women's Giant Slalom on Friday, March 10th and Women's Slalom on Saturday, March 11th. Olympic champions like Mikaela Shiffrin competed on the legendary Red Dog run, which also played host to the 1969 World Cup and 1960 Winter Olympics. It was very exciting for our Owners and Guests as we are located just below the Red Dog run and had spectacular views of the race.

Congratulations to Marianna Sanchez Estrada for being selected as our BE EPIC Champion of the year for 2016! Marianna has been a Room Attendant in housekeeping for 15 years and earned this esteemed award as the result of her commitment to the resort, work performance and positive attitude.

Exciting Updates
The elevator modernization was completed in the beginning of December. It looks amazing and operates better than ever. Management is very pleased with how it turned out. Just before the ski season started new mattresses were installed in all the resort units. Almost all the one-bedroom units were upgraded with king-size beds. We have received very positive feedback regarding the comfort of the mattresses.

Proposed Expansion of the Village at Squaw Valley
Your Board of Directors and Management continue to encourage you to learn more about the proposed development of approximately 100 acres of land within Squaw Valley, owned by Squaw Valley Holdings (previously known as KSL). You can learn more about the proposed project at www.squawrenaissance.com and view the model, which is located at Basecamp in The Squaw Valley Village. At the most recent Placer County hearing, the Board of Supervisors approved the Village project with a passing vote, 4 to 1. Squaw Valley has not released a start date for construction.

We hope to see you all in the near future to enjoy the great ski conditions.

Warm Regards,
Nick Batliner
