Hello Wave Crest Owners, 

Since starting back in December of 2016 as the new General Manager of the Wave Crest Resort, it has been a very busy transition and I have immensely enjoyed meeting the various owners that have stayed at the resort and shared their personal history with me and my team. It is truly a unique property located in a very beautiful spot on the coast and I can certainly understand the attachment everyone has to this property. Many families have grown up here at Wave Crest and I would guess that as the younger family members transition into the ownership of the intervals, we will still see the family tradition of vacationing here continue well into the future. I am proud to be tasked with the management of this great property and I am looking forward to making it the best experience for everyone that vacations here at Wave Crest Resort.

What a great start to the New Year as we complete phase one of the renovations at the resort. We are receiving a lot of great feedback regarding the recent upgrades to the property that included new furnishings throughout the units and updated appliances. Many of the Owners and Guests that have stayed at the resort recently provided great input and we have been making some adjustments to some of the specifications that will improve everyone’s experience. We are already planning the next phase of renovations that will commence in the fall months with the hopes of completing them just before the Christmas Holiday. We also received new pool furniture and painted the pool deck, just in time for spring and summer season.

The thrill of walking down the red carpet while everyone cheers you on; this is what our 2016 BE EPIC Champion of the Year, our Housekeeping Supervisor Gustavo Mejia, experienced during this special night. Each year this Best of the Best event honors the top associates from each resort within Grand Pacific Resorts. Held at the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa, the Executive Team and Resort Managers along with guests from related departments gathered together for this celebration to honor these outstanding associates. It was a perfect evening with cocktails and appetizers out on the patio. Beforehand, Maria attended a private reception where she had the opportunity to chat with Executive Management. After a wonderful dinner, Co-Presidents, David Brown and Tim Stripe and Chief Operating Officer, Nigel Lobo, accompanied by a slideshow, presented the awards. Gustavo is definitely someone who is a walking example of our company values and is a joy to work with every day. Look out though…I think he is going to have plenty of competition for 2017!

Of course there is much to do in the Del Mar area. We are looking to improve our list of activities at the resort and add a lot of fun events as we head into the busy season. We have added a couple of events to the calendar, i.e., a wine and cheese sunset gathering on Thursdays which gives us an opportunity to say greet our visitors and we also have added a coffee klatch on Tuesday mornings so we can provide information to visitors about current events in the community, GPX exchange information and any other questions we can assist with during your stay.
