Better WiFi
You’ll be happy to hear that we’ve upgraded the bandwidth for our WiFi system. This means faster download times with speeds well above industry standards. We are working through upgrading the hardware now and will keep you posted.
New!
All units now have new television sets that are compatible with the digital cable that was installed last year. We’re programming a channel guide with TV listings, which will be rolled out over the next few weeks.
The Elm building now has brand new carpet. The installation crew worked quickly and efficiently over a 3-week period, with very little disruption to our Owners and Guests.
What’s Next
Kitchen remodels and furniture/fixture updates are planned for the Oak Building this year, and in 2019 for the Elm Building. A model unit was open for viewing during the Annual Owners’ Celebration on June 17, 2017. Owners were given the opportunity to provide feedback.
 Some more exciting changes that are coming in the next couple of years: new cabinets, quartz countertops, additional shelving/storage, tile replacement in the kitchens, as well as new sofa sleepers, sitting chairs, recliners, dining tables, lamps and ceiling fans. We’ll also be refinishing wood tables and dressers.
A Month Full of Celebrations!
We have three BE EPIC Associates of the Month to announce:
- Salvador Chavez, Laundry and Housekeeping: He’s only been at Carlsbad Inn for 7 months but in that time he has won over the team by being so willing to assist and go the extra mile.
 He still attends high school, so he only works on Saturday and Sunday, but he has made a big impact.
- Ivan Sanchez, Maintenance: Here is another young man with a great work ethic that is admired by the whole team. He is very quiet but gets projects done quickly and is very reliable and friendly.
- March Eugene Magbata, Area Houseman: Most owners know or will recognize Eugene. He has been at Carlsbad Inn for 29 years and is hands down the busiest Associate on our team.
Congrats to Eugene, Ivan and Salvador!
And while we’re on the topic of outstanding employees,  we’d like to mention Linda Carranza, our Executive Housekeeper. We recently celebrated Linda's 25th anniversary to honor her, and her commitment to Carlsbad Inn. Linda is responsible for more than half of the resort’s staff and considers them family. Outside of work, Linda is deeply committed to her own family - she is the primary caretaker for her 82-year-old mother, has four grown children and loves playing grandmother to her two grandchildren. We are blessed to have Linda on our team – congratulations to her for 25 years!
