Let’s dig in and get the dirt.
In 2015, MarBrisa produced 126,000 lbs. of refuse with an additional 4,400 lbs. in recycling. That is equivalent to roughly 66 tons, which if condensed into stone, and would be approximately the same weight as one column that supports the Pantheon in Rome. With 2016 coming to a close, we have already surpassed 2015’s numbers and are on our way to 70 tons by year’s end.
These numbers are impressive and are only going to increase as we grow. Therefore, plans have been made to alleviate the burden. First, we have reorganized our trash storage areas to maximize the number of bins stored. The number of pickups throughout the week has also been increased to accommodate the increase in waste. Our trash areas are now cleaner, can be accessed faster and require less help to maintain.
Another step forward is the implementation of trash days. We are now going to all units to pick up trash on specified day(s). We ask that you no longer place your bagged trash in the bins on the balconies or next to the elevator doors. Birds are attracted to the trash bags sitting outside between pickups and easily tear into them, spreading the trash around. Should an additional pickup be required throughout your stay, simply dial 0 to speak to an operator or use Zingle Texting to let us know your needs.
With your help we will enjoy clean growth into 2017 and beyond.
